Brainstorm Boffins® – To the Future and Beyond

Brainstorm Boffins® is a unique robotics STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education programme where children work collaboratively in crews on creative problem solving missions.  Each mission is designed to develop 21st century skills such as Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking (the 4 C’s).

21st Century education sets children up to succeed in a world where more than half of the jobs they’ll have over their careers don’t even exist yet.   Work environments of the future require adaptable “knowledge workers” who can work collaboratively, independently and creatively.

STEAM education is at the heart of our programmes.

Our Robotics and STEAM enrichment programmes provide engaging, multidisciplinary education experiences for children. The fun activities combine robotics, coding and STEAM for a comprehensive education encounter.  Our BoffinBot® programmable robot is utilized for exploration, experimentation and creativity.

Brainstorm Boffins® Proprietary Curriculum

Brainstorm Boffins® Robotic STEAM Curriculum delivers structured content, facilitating the mastery of critical STEAM skills.

Through our structured, educational technology-rich Robotic STEAM Curriculum we aim to facilitate student engagement.  Cognitive, affective and behavioural engagement are the three widely accepted dimensions of student engagement. Cognitive engagement relates to deep learning strategies, self-regulation and understanding; affective engagement relates to positive reactions to the learning environment, peers and teachers, as well as their sense of belonging and interest; and behavioural engagement relates to participation, persistence and positive conduct.

Research shows when curriculum content is relevant and challenging, and taught using active and collaborative learning techniques, it is highly effective at promoting student engagement.

The outcomes of student engagement include increased discipline specific knowledge and higher order thinking skills, increased motivation, enhanced sense of belonging and wellbeing, improved relationships through peer-to-peer learning and collaboration, enhanced personal development, and increased involvement in the wider educational community.
